Longo’s celebrates with Joseph Brant hospital donation

Jan 28, 2016
To mark the start of the chain's 60th anniversary celebrations, Longo's is giving $500,000 to the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation.

An anniversary event is being held this Saturday at 10 a.m. at the 1225 Fairview St. Longo's. The store is being transformed into a 1950s diner with era costumes, decorations, music and food.

There also will be a cheque presentation made by Rosanne Longo on behalf of the Longo family to the Joseph Brant foundation as part of a community matching gift challenge.

The hospital is in the midst of a $300-million-plus redevelopment that includes phase two construction of a new seven-storey patient tower, which will add 170 in-patient beds.

It is expected to be finished by June 2017 and be operational by September of that year.
